The story behind Seedprotector
Seedprotector was born from a real-life experience that showed how crucial secure storage is for Bitcoin. After the sudden death of a good friend, his family could not access his Bitcoin – they were lost forever. Why? Because there were no provisions for others to access them.
💡 Why does this happen so often? For Bitcoin, wallets, PINs, and keys must be securely stored, but at the same time, they must remain accessible to authorized persons. If only one person has the necessary access data, the entire fortune can be lost. In fact, up to 20% of all Bitcoin may have been lost to date – which corresponds to a value of around 400 billion US dollars (as of February 2025).
The biggest risks for Bitcoin losses:
80% due to own fault: forgotten access data, lost seed words, and insecure storage.
